All items are able to be picked up from 3.00pm till 5.00pm Friday (subject to availability), or anytime Saturday morning.
There are no restrictions on usage time on the weekends for items in this category; it’s a flat one day charge for the weekend regardless of whether it’s returned on Monday morning.
There are geographical restrictions on how far the trailers can be taken without Picton Hire’s prior knowledge.
Area Allowable (without prior knowledge): Is the area that is bordered to the north by the Hawkesbury River; West to Katoomba, south to Goulburn and east to Nowra. The one day hire charge over the weekend covers use of the trailers within this area for the duration of the weekend. If you need to travel outside this area, call us for a quote and we can tailor a price to suit your individual needs.
It is also a benefit to our customers to advise us of use outside these areas as we will give the trailer an extra thorough check over in the workshop to ensure your extended trip is trouble free.
It is also worth noting that the tyres on all long haul trailers are fitted with ” reseal” tyre gel that instantly seals punctures caused by nails, screws etc.
Also In keeping with the latest technology, all long haul trailers are fitted with GPS tracking.
All car trailers are fitted with 4 x ratchet tie down straps and a winch.
These larger items are available all weekend for a one day fee, though we do expect that the machine will only be used for 8 hours.
We find that most customers find this a useful option on weekends, the often stressful situation of having to return the item late on Saturday afternoon or early Sunday morning is not an issue.
The customer has all weekend to deal with the inevitable holds ups that occur with earthmoving. Whether it is a shortage of materials, pipe breakages, inclement weather etc., you can relax; you’ve got all weekend to sort it out.
If the items are used for more than 8 hours, the extra charges are based on an hourly rate – Which is the daily rate divided by 8, e.g. daily rate is $240 – divided by 8 – the hourly rate is $30.
The hour meter reading is noted on your invoice at the start of the hire, and again upon return. The basic rule of thumb is, if it’s got a diesel engine and is an earth moving machine, the 8 hour rule applies.
